Christmas Dental Care
Christmas Dental Care.
The tree, the presents, the turkey, crazy Uncle Clive and endless repeats of Bing Crosby singing carols – Christmas can be great, but it can also be so busy, hectic doesn’t even begin to describe it! You barely have time to think, let alone worry about that ever-so-slightly sore tooth. In the new year, you think to yourself; I’ll deal with it then. The trouble is, teeth are not holiday-friendly, and they have an unpredictable timetable, one guaranteed to ruin your Christmas Day!
Get it sorted beforehand
Why not start 2020 with a clean bill of dental health? Book an appointment now, before the craziness starts and before that filling you’re trying not to worry about becomes a real problem. That way, not only will you be able to cross that vital appointment off your list, but you can sail into the festive season worry-free. Which is a good thing when mistletoe can pop up anywhere without warning!
Without warning is how most dental accidents happen over the festive season. Someone jostles your arm just as you’re taking a sip of champers, or you trip carrying the load of presents down the stairs in the middle of the night wearing those too-large slippers. The ten-cent piece Grandad insists on hiding in the plum pudding – you don’t see it and bite down too hard thinking it’s a hazelnut. Speaking of nuts, trying to crack nuts is often a cause of damage to teeth at Christmas. So are over-excited children and animals jumping around and possibly hitting someone in the jaw. The worst problems though come from guests trying to open beer bottles with their teeth!
There are more parties and gadding about over Christmas than at any other time of the year, so there are more opportunities for a dental disaster. And if you’ve had a problem in your mouth brewing for a while…need we say more?
Dentists Open for Christmas?
If disaster strikes and you need a dentist, you’ll discover they’re not all open over the Christmas break. Those that are, may be so busy it could be tricky getting an appointment. It’s not only dental disasters they’ll be attending to, it will be the backlog of patients who, too rushed during the year, have left their regular check-ups until they’re on holiday. Christmas is the dentist’s busiest time. Most school clinics are either closed or have greatly reduced hours.
Don’t let your teeth ruin your holiday! Book an appointment now with Team Dental. You’ll be grateful you did.
If you have a chipped or knocked out tooth or crown, save the pieces in some milk, rinse out your mouth with warm water and see a dentist as quickly as you can. Do NOT use ANY form of glue to try and put your tooth back in place.
